Swims’ rise, however, was anything but meteoric at first. Before breaking into the mainstream, he was a singer in various alternative rock, hardcore, and metal bands, and later what people now call a YouTube musician.

With his signature powerhouse soul voice, he breathed new life into songs by Michael Jackson, Lewis Capaldi, Amy Winehouse, Shania Twain, and H.E.R., building a global following of millions over the years. His Big Bang came with the self-penned hit «Lose Control» (2023), which propelled him overnight into stardom. The song hit the Top 100 in over 30 countries, and even reached #1 in in the US, Canada and—drumroll please!—Switzerland.
