La Nefera

She is one of the most important female voices in Swiss rap – and she uses it time and time again for socially critical topics and empowering lyrics, especially for FLINTA* folks. La Nefera, whose stage name is derived from the mighty Egyptian queen “Nefertiti”, towers high above her beats, combining Latin American influences and brass elements with tropical and Afro rhythms, mixing them with world music and jazz melodies. This fusion of catchy melodies and powerful rap has taken her to stages all over the world, including Mozambique, Palestine, Canada and England. After her debut album “A lo hecho pecho” in 2016, the rapper from Basel, who was born in the Dominican Republic, released her second LP “C’est ça” at the end of 2023, which was created during a six-month stay and tour in Colombia. Now she’s back – with her virtuoso four-piece band, La Nefera will also be taking the Waldbühne by storm.
