Announced in 2018 as “German newcomers”, Leoniden are returning to the Gurten this summer as one of the really big acts. And strictly speaking, newcomer was meant more in the commercial sense back then, because as a school band, Leoniden had already existed since 2005. But the self-titled debut album released in 2017 catapulted the Kielers up onto the stages and into the hearts of people who love indie rock with an emphasis on rock. In August 2021 they released their third album “Complex Happenings Reduced To A Simple Design”, with which they can finally be on the road after a “thoroughly fucked up and complicated” pandemic period and various cancelled concerts. Enjoy it, the meteor shower.
