Robot Dog Funeral
Robot Dog Funeral is what happens when a person with a multi-genre enthusiasm and a passion for bass and vocals joins forces with a precision drummer from a metal background, an indie nerd with a synthesizer collection, and a guitarist with retro flair. This combination has created music over five years that naturally weaves references from psychedelic rock, metal, rap, post-punk, and indietronica into an exciting new signature. Sometimes the sound whirls and dances you around fast rhythms, while at other times everything crashes together under distortion and screaming, only to continue at half speed and double intensity. The lyrics are brimming with social critique and rebellion but also cut straight to the heart with encoded messages to loved ones and the world.

Karl Kave & Durian
Here’s the translation into English:
“‘From patriarchy to cucumber salad!’ Karl Kave & Durian do not shy away from grand slogans, although a pleasure in internal and external contradictions reveals itself upon closer listening. While the first two albums ‘Ungestüme Reiter’ (Choléra Cosmique, 2020) and ‘Untergang und Finsternis’ (Detriti, 2021) were characterized by EBM, post-punk, and synthpop, the restless duo increasingly ventures ‘On the Search for the Lost Night’ (Young and Cold, Spring 2023) into the realm of dance and Chicago house. Somewhere between rave and poetry, KKD seems to capture the zeitgeist: a blend of romance, humor, absurdity, and high culture.”
