Trap, boom bap, drum’n’bass, drill, 2-step, G-funk, Miami bass – no matter what type of beat you throw at Ele A, she delivers. The young musician from Lugano raps about everyday topics as well as social issues, or blends the two seamlessly together without ever seeming like she’s forcing the point. Her single “BOUNCE”, for instance, is inspired by the Nokia game “Bounce Tales”. She raps about Yung Lean, Obelix, and GeoGuesser, while also delivering statements like: “Every banknote is worth less than an idea”. Ele calls it “street-pop”, and that sounds about right. Especially because the street, in a metaphorical sense, is the place where her music works best: among people, in direct exchange, where not everything is polished to perfection.
