One of the most intriguing combinations in the Swiss music scene: Nativ, arguably the best, certainly the most celebrated rapper in the country, especially since “MVZ” (2015) and the S.O.S. era, and Pablo Nouvelle, a highly relevant figure in electronic future soul, internationally acclaimed. Now, their first album together, “Embrace”, bridges two musical worlds and takes both artists out of their musical comfort zones. The results are surprising: Nativ, who continues to showcase his commendable vocal skills, and Nouvelle, who combines his familiar melancholic synthscapes with melodic vibes and trappy drum patterns. It’s a meeting on equal terms, the best of both worlds. Their solo performances have always been among the Swiss highlights at Gurten, and this year they join forces.
