Gurtenfestival celebrates its 40th edition in 2023!

In 2023 the Gurtenfestival will present its 40th edition. It will be celebrated with an extra day of music – for once, Bern’s local mountain will also come alive on Sunday. The legendary RockTheHill promotion starts with exclusive 40th-edition passes (4 & 5-day passes!) in November, regular advance sales in December. In 2023 the festival will finally start a bit earlier in the year, when the Waldbühne Contest will take place in March.

For one year only: Extra day Sunday!

40 editions of one of Switzerland’s biggest festivals need to be celebrated. That’s why there will be a one-off extra day of music, party and fun on Sunday, 16 July. The musical programme on Sunday will concentrate on the main stage area, the tent stage area will remain closed. Three acts each will play on the main stage and the Waldbühne, and the three dancetents will of course also be open and serve the accompanying party.

The legendary RockTheHill promotion may not be missing this year either. There will be a small, limited contingent of 4-day passes, which will be sold at a reduced price. For the very loyal Güsche fans, there will also be a limited contingent of 40th Edition passes (5-day passes). The 5-day pass will only be available during this exclusive promotion; in the regular presale, Sunday will only be offered as a 1-day pass. The RockTheHill and 40th Edition passes will be available at the Gurtenfestival ticket shop from 6 pm on Wednesday, 16 November. So mark your calendar and buy your tickets at 6 pm sharp. A maximum of 2 tickets per person can be purchased.

The regular presale will start on 6 December at 12.00 noon. The first acts will also be announced at this time.

Waldbühne Contest 2023

After the winners of the Waldbühne Contest 2020 were unable to attend their well-deserved performances for well-known reasons, this was finally made up for last July. Accordingly, the first Waldbühne Contest Post Corona will take place in March 2023. The musicians can register on waldbühne.ch from January onwards, six bands will be invited to the contest at the Mühle Hunziken and four of them will win the opening slot on the Waldbühne at the 2023 festival. As usual, these are the slots from Wednesday to Saturday.
